The Emerging Cinematographer Awards (ECA) were created to allow Local 600 members (those not yet classified as a DP) an opportunity to present themselves as directors of photography by submitting a short film with a running time of 30 minutes or less for consideration. The International Cinematographers Guild  (ICG, IATSE Local 600) named 10 honorees for their 24th Annual Emerging Cinematographer Awards, spotlighting promising cinematographers and providing crucial exposure needed to succeed in the film and television industry. Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the honorees chosen in 2020 celebrated their win in-person October 2nd 2022 at the Television Academy Theatre. Jac Cheairs, is one of those honorees, which were selected from over 100 submissions, for his film,‘KENOBI: A Star Wars Fan Film’.
